Forensic psychologist (prison and probation services): Training

Continuing professional development is monitored by the Health Professions Council (HPC)   and requires attendance on appropriate courses provided, for example, by the British Psychological Society (BPS)   or the International Academy of Investigative Psychology (IAIP)   and the maintenance of a log of cases, etc.

Professional training is complemented with training in specific aspects of service. There is also considerable emphasis on acquiring accredited trainer status to deliver nationally recognised group programmes.
